Couples With Sway
Richard & Nikki Leacock
What do you love about her?
The moment I saw her, I said to myself, "I could probably deal with that girl." I respect her love of family, her love of friends and her loyalty. She's got to be the kindest person I've ever met. She's been my best friend for so long; I can't go wrong with that. We have a healthy respect for one another.
What keeps you together?
Friendship. We became really good friends and our love kind of grew from that. We got to know each other inside and out Ñ flaws and qualities. That helps eliminate a lot of the garbage.
Your love story?
We met on the set of this dancing commercial when MC Hammer was really huge. I was the only girl on set and I couldn't dance; I had no acting experience and I was wearing this very small outfit. He just had a very kind spirit and for some reason I felt comfortable with him. It was a tough experience but Richard was so nice and thoughtful and he comforted me. So we got to talking. But I was dating someone so it was nothing at the time, but he still asked if I needed a ride. We were friends for years long before we started dating.
